Theater Benefit from 1931 & pseudo newsreel from 1934
The first item in this clip is a 1931 promo with Eddie Cantor talking about a series of benefits for the unemployed.
On Oct 11, 1931 William Hays of the Motion Picture Association announced that 25000 theaters would donate proceeds from special showings during the week of Nov 18-25th in response to President Hoover's call for unemployment relief. So I would assume this short was released in late October or early November 1931.
Can't really date the second item. It probably is a Canadian travel promo.
The last item in this clip is part 1 of a 1934 "Pete Smith"-style pseudo newsreel on Washington DC. Many sarcastic remarks are made that would work just as well today. See the second half here:
